whites treefrog color changing

    i was wondering why my whites treefrog changes corols? during the day he is a bright green but at night he changes to a dark brown. i read that they change colors when they get more active???? and just wanted to know if this is true or not.

    white's tree frogs do change color often. some people say they get dark when they are stressed, but i don't think that happens very often. my white's tree frogs turn brown when the humidity gets high or it gets dark. i think part of the reason is that they are better camoflauged at night if they turn brown while during the day they are better camoflauged if they are green. their color change is nothing to worry about unless, of course, he turns blue or something. :) :wink: it could also have to do with activity levels. i have read many articles and care sheets on white's and everyone seems to have a different opinion on why they change colors. one thing everyone seems to agree on is that it is not a sign of illness, injury, etc. 8)
