RE: Rodent Advice How can I get live feeder mice and rats for my python? it seems as though the big pet food chains wont sell them becuase of the pressure the nuts at pets put on them. Should I start breeding my own or what? Thanks
RE: Rodent Advice It's not PETA that is putting pressure, it's a general lack of demand that's doing it. Too many people have seen captive snakes die painful deaths from injuries suffered from live prey. Not to mention the extra cost of housing and selling live mice. f/t is so much cheaper for the stores. But as there are still snakes that refuse to eat anything f/t, there still are some stores that sell live. If you can't find any, breeding your own is a great way to ensure a steady supply of healthy, cheap feeders.
