What type of snake is this(milk?)

    (S)he's extremely docile, light brown with dark brown bands down the sides. Circular pupils. I live in the north so my guess was a northern milk snake image.jpg

    hmmmm.....its hard to tell from that picture. It could be a young northern water snake. Can you get a picture of its side pattern and maybe a full body shot? What state did you find it in?

    Not sure why they're sideways, sorry. I also forgot to mention that his belly is very patterned as well. Sort of like caramel colored lines.

    Yea, it looks like a juvenile northern water snake to me.
