I bought a baby tokay gecko at a reptile show on Sunday. He was barely 3 inches long and so tiny. I took him home, put him in his 20 gallon tank suped up with fake trees and bamboo tunnels and then I named him Carl. Within a few hours I checked the tank and hes just sitting there. He looked fine and alive but I soon found out when I went to pick him up that he was lifeless. It was the first reptile loss Ive experienced and it was tough on me. I still continue to ask myself, What did I do wrong? Well Carl is in a better place now. RIP little fellow.
Sorry for your loss. Mybe we could find what was wrong with your set up. Could you describe the conditions in the tank? Did it have any tankmates?
I'm very sorry for your loss, but I believe you should tell the person that you bought your Tokay from. It is possible that you could save lives of other little tokays by alerting the seller to a possible illness.
Well it was a 20 gallon tank with a bed-a-beast substrate, fake trees and bamboo tunnels. A rock with meal-worms in it(that Im sure he never made it to). No tank mates.
Im sad for you , i cant imagine losing Crash or Fella . You must be really sad. Sorry for your loss. Rest In Peace Carl
