from reptilefood.com with shipping and handling it came to 29 dollars... really wasnt expecting it to be that much when i saw that 1000 crickets cost 10.50 there.

does anyone else have to pay this much after shipping and handling?

    Well first off,

What kind of shipping is it?
    Where are you located?
    Where is the shipper located?

Those are pretty much the only factors of how much shipping is going to cost.

I get my crickets from reptilefood as well, its usually not quite that much but its pretty close. The shipping is expensive because they overnight them. The service is great though - i never have issues with dead crickets, and the few times i have they are GREAT about replacing them...no questions asked.

Yeah, overnight shipping prices rape your wallet hard.
