House gecko Q????

    it depends on your peronal tastes i like house geckos better as there are lighter in colour

    I likr reptiles with bright colours, but I love all reptiles :(

    I have never seen either. But it is what you like the look of best that you should go for.

    Calling a gecko a "house gecko" is kind of like calling a green anole a "green lizard." There are tons of geckos called house geckos, just like how there are hundreds of lizards that are green.

    Latin, or scientific names will help you greatly with finding out more about house geckos. There are many great resources with photographs online (sorry, no link on-hand) where you can narrow down the species you have in mind to a few species that look similar to it.

    For example... I've seen at least twenty different "house geckos" in pet shops over the years. A couple of them, once identified, turned out to be lizards such as Tarentola mauretanica, Cosymbotus platyurus (which I currently keep), and Hemidactylus turcicus. Three different species, all labelled "house gecko." Of course, there were a bunch of other house geckos that have been different that I've seen, but I haven't bothered identifying all of them :D
