I just bought a new brown basilisk from a reptile expo. When he came home he was very skittish which is normal so I've been
Leaving him alone but today he turned a dark brown. I was considering providing him with a hide to help him relax but didn't know if that was necessary. He is in the tank with a Chinese water dragon that's a little smaller than him. Any suggestions?

Could you possibly give us more info on his tank setup?
    How large is the tank?
What are the daytime and night time temps?
How hot is his basking spot?
How old and how far away is his full spectrum UV bulb?
    Has he been eating?
What has he been offered as food items and how often?

If he is a male what sex is the Chinese water dragon?
It's not recommended to put two different species in the same tank, especially not for anyone but a very experienced keeper.... How old is the CWD? How long has the CWD been in the tank before you put the new basilisk in? Did your basilisk have a quarantine time before he was put in with the CWD? Did you change the decor in the tank when you put the Basilisk in? Have you noted any signs of agression?

Sorry for the million questions but it would help us to get a better idea of what is going on with your new reptile if you could answer most to all of those... lol.
