Does anyone have experience in keeping Ctenosaura species? It looks like Mexican iguanas are very rear in Europe, why is that so? There are some species that seem to be very interesting for housing, like: C.clarki, C.quinquecarinata, C.palearis, C.bakeri... I’d like to now something about them from the „first hand“. Thanks!

I don't have one, but I am interested in spineytail iguanas. I've heard that they're relatively mean and usually don't get as tame as a normal iguana. I think that they're more rare in Europe due to shipping and the fact that they don't breed well in captivity... just like there are breeders of Fiji iguanas in Europe but not in America!

I’ve heard too that they are a bit mean, but so are tokay geckos and they are still popular pets. Ctenosauras are much smaller the green iguanas which make them more suitable for housing, and they certainly have some rough charm :)
