I have just been offered a coastal carpet python and a Iran jaya carpet python. The owner said i could breed them. So please could you tell me how the babies will come out? Will they be a morph of a hybrid? Will they be good looking? Thanks in advance.
Personally I wouldnt breed the two together unless you plan on keeping all the offspring. The problem is soon as they get into other peoples hand and get moved around a few times no one will be sure what they actually are. Then people come to forums asking what they have and no one really knows. On another forum I am a member of this happens quite often. Oh and its a mainly carpet python site. As far as looks most likely they will just be dark and you might get a few good looking ones.
Yeah, I also definitely have to say NOT to do that... There are so many morphs and morphs from those morphs... its hard to find anything pure anymore... Sad, I have to say... Just take one or the other, and then buy another to make a pair!
Agree with above posters. Considering they come from different locales, I believe a costal x jaya would be considered a hybrid
