There are sooooo many snakes out there that you can get.
    If you are into boas.....
Hog Island BCI, Rosy Boa, Colombian BCI, Boa C Amarilli (sp?)
    Pythons........
Spotted Python, Children's Python, Irian Jaya Carpet Python
    Colubrids....
Milks, Kings, Corns there are so many different color variations on colubrids and most of them are very easy to keep.

What kind of size snake are you looking for?

We are looking for a snake that will grow to about 5-7' ... I want to build my own tank and set it up for him/her before we get it ... We have a bp so we want to stay away from the pythons ... but we want a snake that is VERY & EXTREMELY colourful ... any ideas ?

    Very & Extremely colourful....
Check out the corns, kings, and milks, they are probably the most colorful.
Heres a link to some corn snake morph info on this site... Click Here
    Some pics of milks.....
    Milk Snakes

Carpet pythons can be cool too... that is if you like black, yellow, and coffee colors
