hello, just a few quick questions -is it alright to keep a pair in the same housing? -how are they temperment wise? -are they able to get along with other household pets? i.e dogs cheers
-is it alright to keep a pair in the same housing? As long as its a large enough enclosure and there are enough basking spots where there isn't competition. also enough hides too. -how are they temperment wise? They are fairly docile with handling they calm down, in their enclosures they are fairly active. -are they able to get along with other household pets? i.e dogs Not sure what you mean. Will they mind the activity outside their cage, at first they will, if the dog is constaly nosing in on them , they will probably be stressed. If you mean letting them free roam to play with the dog, i dont think thats a very good idea, they still have sharp claws, and a strong bite, as does a dog, I definately wouldn't chance it. Hope that helps. [/b]
I'd be fairly confident they would get defensive. Monitors really dont run much, but seeing ackies are so small they might, but I wouldnt be surprised if you found your ackie hanging attached to your dogs nose.
-Yes, larger the better, a hide for each, a basking spot for each -About the same as sav frrom my experiance -Hmmm.......it depends...: i wouldn't mix dogs with lizards
Can red ackies and yellow ackies be housed together? Is there any difference in them other than color? I didn't find this info at Pro Exotics.
Probably mixing them wouldn't be a good idea, never tried it, and prolly never will, it's sorta like mixing WT with BT.....close name.....different size LOL
Yes they can be housed together. There are RedXYellows out there so they do cross breed. Anyways...good luck!
