Hello. My boyfriend is interested in getting a yellow rat snake. Now he doesn't have anything yet (not even a tank or branches or any of that at all) but we are working on getting a list of supplies. Any information about these snakes would be helpful. It would be great if he could get it before somebody else does, but I would like to be able to provide him with as much information as possible on these wonderful creatures. Thanks in advance.
As far as i know the care for rats is almost identical to the care for corns...check out the care sheets on this site, as well as www.cornsnake.net Bascially....you will need a 10-20gallonLong tank to start - aspen bedding - undertank heater (hooked up to a light dimmer) - several hides (warm side, cool side, humid hide) - a large water dish and plenty of frozen mice!
well, a tank, screened lid, uth, digital thermometer, thermostats are handy, aspen, branches for climbing, 2 hides (one in each end), and a water bowl. I also use fake vine leaves for decoration, and extra cover. Am I forgetting anything?
