What is the best beding/flooring for a corn snake?

    Splinters on the snakes? Hmm, but that could be the case for any animal you would keep on wood shavings. Has that really ever happened?

    Splinters inside their mouths from aspen sticking to the rodent.

    My snake was eating a rat the other day and it bit him on the side of his bottom lip. He has a little sore on it. But you should of heard that rat squeal after that. He bit it's head and flung it across the cage and then started grabbing it then letting go of it so he could hunt it over and over again. Finally it died and he ate it.

    Might want to use some neosporin or wash that with Nolvasan or something along those lines so it doesn't become a huge problem. Then, if you haven't already, you might want to try frozenthawed feeders. :)

    How big is your corn snake, that he can eat rats the size that will bite?

    He's around four foot long. And the wound is completely healed and the snakes doing fine.
