i've got a new crocodile skink, i name it thorny and it has been in about 4 days. it has just eaten about 5 crix in the last 4 days, today it ate one.
a question, is this normal? a smaller skink (the 2cents one) can eat 5 crix per feeding!
so im worried. i've heard we should take out any uneaten crix 5 minutes after. but since its nocturnal (i guess) and not really an active eater, can i reduce that?
is that ok if i just leave them till he eats?

then. i put a wood for hiding under it and a plastic container filled with water, like for packing food, but i cut the side so it can enter (its NOT sharp if we cut the plastic) but the crix i gave to him nearly always hide inside a lil hole in the wood or behind the plastic cont and he cant reach them. should i take it away? i tried leaving him with only 2 crix and a round plastic tube but he likes to hide and can cause stress maybe??
    please!!
    im so worried!!

any help will be appreciated :)

Did you do any research before you bought it, or did you just think, "Hey, that looks cool! I want to buy it!" and you bought it and afterwards you want to find out the care?

i did. i bought it because they say its on of the easiest, cheapest, and docile there. and i did some research though.
i asked the breeder on how care i can go with. this thing is not easy to find in caresheet. its rare in UK and USA.
so i cant really trust any caresheet. its ok right now. it ate, always only one per feeding about once per day or two days once.
    here's more info:
its not nocturnal (many says it is), i've seen him sleeping during night. he only wakes up till 8-9.
it wakes up early in the morning, maybe about 4 - 5 am.
it nearly always hide during the day.
it climb at his log at night or early morning.
    its an adult.
it looks healthy with only one crix per day.
    :p
    any question?

ok i will reply this again. i think that skink just need some time to adapt in my place. its usually placed in place with many other, and bigger (because they held 20), some this enclosure ik now smaller, and hes alone. so i think he needs to adapt first. its doing very great, eating in the first day even only one crix. but maybe its usually placed with many and didnt used to eat more than 1 per day.

so before i bought it i researched, and found some like that. ok, it sonud easy, (even the breeder says it's easy), and its easy.

and for the hiding crix, i've cut down all acces to the place. in a hole in the wood, i put tissue in them (thats why i asked to about use of tissue dagerous or not), so crix cant get in.
and behind the tube, i put some wire, not from metal, i dont know what's that name in english so crix cant get in too.

    okay

    :p

sorry for my late reply ikermalli

Okay, just checking, if you do find a caresheet, crocodile skinks are hard to find, meaning that the people who have them try to take the best care possible, so you should trust the care sheets. You should post some pictures in the Photography section here, I would love to see it!
