I am trying to get a consistent method going for heating my uros' tanks. Up until recently, I have been using one 100 watt ZooMed basking spot lamp as the only heat source in each tank. The temp on the hot side daytime was only about 80- 85 F, so I recently purchased a light combo dome for one of my tanks to test it out. I currently have an 8.0 ReptiGlo ExoTerra brand UV light, the 100 watt zoomed on one side and a 60watt ZooMed brand daylight blue bulb on the other side. This has shown daytime hot side to be 90 - 95, but still not hot enough. There are 150 watt spot lamps available, but will not fit in the dome without touching the mesh cover... I am using a 20 gallon short/long tank.

I have 4 total uro tanks (1 mali uro each tank). 3 of the tanks are 20 gallon short tanks (30" x 11" x 12") and one is a 50 gallon short tank.

If anyone has advice on heating these tanks properly, please let me know! I am also looking into getting custom tanks made (perhaps with light fixtures built in) i live in OHIO, so am looking for someone who builds good tanks that either SHIPS here or is within pick-up distance. (I really like the tanks on deerfernfarms.com, but washington is quite the drive!) Thanks!
