Ok, I've always been sure my boa is a male based on tail length and spurs.
However having looked at some pictures of other male boa's, mine doesn't seem that "long" anymore plus his spurs are pretty small.
Do females have spurs at all? And is size a good way to determine sex as females are bigger. Mine is between 2 and a half and 3 years old and around 5'9" long, and weighs about 5-6kgs. Would you guys say he is a she? From the fact that "he" has small spurs and is pretty big. I have another thread with photo's which may help.
    Cheers :)

If he's got spurs then it's fairly certain to be a male.
Another way, although not 100% accurate, look at tail near vent, if it stay same width, as just before vent , may be an inch or so, then start to taper off, suggests a male as well. If it starts to taper immediately after vent then it's female.
The only certain way is to have it probed by an expert, (dont try this at home).
Again size can be deceiving and is no guarantee, at that age they will and do vary in size.
