Is Scales the name of your anole? May you post a picture of the whole tank?

Scales is her/his name, I'm unsure.

Certainly, I'll have them up in a few.

Thank you for the pictures. If you get pictures of the base of your anole's tail, I might be able to determine the gender of your anole.
First off, welcome to the anole forum. If you did not already know, proper care for anoles may be expensive. 100-200 dollars expensive. I am sorry that you did not post pictures to be told what is wrong with your enclosure but I do spot several mistakes.
1)If I remember, You said it is a 7 gallon which is too small. Although they may be small little guys, they are very active and need plenty of space. 10 gallons should be the BARE MINNIMUM for them.
2)do you have a UVB light and a basking bulb? UVB is especially important in the synthesis of calcium into Vitamin d3 for healthy bones. Without it, thir body will actually pull it out of their bones which will lead them to be gummy.
3)Anoles really need more Foilage (plants). Anoles usually feel more secure. Without them they will cause stress very quickly for them.
4)Those thermometers really are highly innaccurate and can fluctuate by as many as 20-30 degrees farenheit. Digital thermometers work the best.
I am sorry if You feel pressurized or I seem rude to you. My intentions are for the best for your anole

Oh no, it's ok. I just wasn't told about those things, I think 7 gallons is alright.

He has those two bumps at the base of the tail.

I dont want to get all up in your bussiness but 7 gallons Is NOT ALRIGHT. Just think in the wild they have all that space to roam around, I really think you should get a 10+ gallon tank. For exmple, I have a 50 gal. And I just have 2 Anoles. I think i might get another one, but 3 would be just enough for the 50 gal.

Like 560895 said, It is not alright. a small enclosure does not allow the animal to thermoregulate between temperature zones. It will also not have enough room for it to act naturally causing stress. a 10 gallon tank does not cost that much.

Then why would they sell the starter kit with 7 gallons if it isn't alright?

Petstores sell those kind of kits to make money. They don't care as much about the animals as they do about the sales of their products. They sell you a bunch of usless stuff like water bowls and lizard hammocks for their benefit.

Yep, all petstores care about is making $$...Anyways like its been said a 10gal. doesnt cost much ($10-$15). You can just move the stuff you have at the 7 gal. and put it in the 10 gal....

Yeah, I think Those starter kits cost about 35 dollars. You can get a 10 gallon tank with a lid for 10-20 dollars.
