requirements (Heating & Lighting For a Corn Snake)

    is there any safe wood shavings or is carpet the only way to go

    I was jsut saying that the barks from those trees(pine, cedar) are not the toxic part, it's the actually wood that has the toxic oils. correct?

    I'd say Aspens probably one fot he most popular ones. I know my corn loves burrowing in her shavings.

    Oh, gotcha telly, yeah, I think you're right. It's just the wood itself, especially since that's what makes up most of the wood shavings. I'm sure there are some oils in the bark but that's not really the biggest concern.
    Aspen and cypress are the most commonly used wood substrates. Carpet and newspaper are great since they are easier to clean, but they don't help controll humidity. Depends on personal preference what you want to use.
