After boarding up for this tropical storm/hurricane, I decided to finish setting up my crested enclosure. This is what it looks like with a brick of shredded coconut fiber, my custom (dead) tree, water dish, and assorted silk greenery... The left hand side has a 3 trunk cluster of ficus... Note: the humidity is prior to a spritz. ----------------------Front view--------------------- -----------------------------Rear right quarter---------------------------------------------Front left quarter----------------------------- And here's a pic of the dead tree, assembled from cork bark tubes, and a grape vine branch... The horizontal piece makes a nice hollow hide... I have a ring of cork added to the front at the bottom to hold a ¾oz plastic dish for food...
It's a 17gal long tank (12"x12"x30"), on end, with a home made lower panel/screen door... It cost about $25 for all the stuff to convert it, but I have lots of material left over...
Nice conversion, thats pretty much the easiest way to do it. Do you just have plastic plants in there. Soon you guys will get to see what right now im thinking is going to be a crestie enclosure, maybe ill post pics and you guys can tell me what to put in it. Wheres the cresties by the way?
Yup, they're all silks... Not in there yet... we're hoping to pick him up this weekend... Meet Angus: (picture courtesy of StickyFeet Exotics)
Well, I can give you a big YES answer to that now... He loves to hide in there... he goes in and turns around, then puts his head out on the balcony (as we call it) to watch the world go by... when it's sleep time, he backs in a little deeper... When he wakes up, he'll come right out to the end with his head hanging over the edge, checking the place out while it gets dark enough for him to come down and eat... Although it is hollow all the way through to the other end, he does not go that deep, and has not (to our knowledge) used the other end...
what is the tank standing on? how is it supported and attached is what im asking. (its great looking by the way) you did an awesome job
that is a great tank I love the dead tree it is nice to see all of this cool stuff it gives me alot of ideas for enclosures of our own . and great creasty I really like his raised ridge on his back.
That's a very nice looking tank! I was wondering what list of parts would I need to make a lower panel and screen door like yours?
