I have a 4Length x 2Height x 1.5Depth (ft) (just over 80 gallons i think) I would love to get a Colubrid snake (Corn/King i was thinking of), are my dimensoins too big for one of these snakes? I know that you need a small cage for when they're babies but is this cage too big for an adult? I would like to buy a baby and then use this cage for when it grows up. Please any replies, suggestions or answers would be greatly appreciated[/i]
Sounds like a perfect cage for an adult.... you could even use it for a baby but you would need LOTS of hides and artificial greenery. The down side to that is that a baby could take forever to find with that much to hide in.
thanks for your reply - i will look into this further over the net, books and the reptile shop (caresheets mainly) i've never had a snake before so i am looking forward to this a lot
one more thing actually, how many fully grown corn / king snakes could in this cage? i would either get one or two - would this be ok?, do they have to be both females?
you can fit probably around 5-7 of them, but if you do buy more, dont get king snakes, because they'll eat each other.
You can keep one in that cage unless you are trying to breed them and in that case two would be ok. It is always best to keep one snake per cage unless you are attempting to breed them.
