    Hi,

My husband really wants a desert horned lizard, we can catch them here in California, but we DO NOT want to do that, we would like a captive bred one. Could anyone point me in the right direction for a reputable breeder?

    Thanks,
    Kristi

I'm glad your keeping the wild ones where they are. I grew up in a place that had them everywhere, so I had quite a few as "pets." (I was really little then, so don't get upset at me or anything. :) ) I've learned. I'll keep my eyes open for you. :)

They are cool looking lizards, but from what I recall that are VERY hard to keep alive for more than a year or so in captivity. Supposedly they will appear to do well then for no apparent reason die.
