    Hello,

I'm planning to get a male, and 2 female anoles in the near future. I will put them in a room with a lot of natural light. I'm also planning to lightly plant the tank with live plants, perhaps.

My biggest question is, how long should I keep the UV light on? Should this act as a heat source, as well? I'm confused on the 2 different types of lights needed.

    Thanks a lot.

You should have a basking bulb AND a UVB bulb. As long as the temperatures get to the right level, even a regular incandescent light bulb should work. If the temperature gets too cold at night, use a ceramic heat emitter to heat things up.

Okay, thanks a lot. So the UV & the basking bulb should be on for roughly 12 hours?

    Thanks
