I recently bought a golden tegu at a local aquaculture store. I noticed when i got home and put it in his tank that some of his fingers were missing and or looked like they were broken. Is this ok? Is it normal for them to do this and do they grow them back?
RE: Help my golden tegu They will not grow back. It is a sign of poor care, as the tegu was unable to remove it's toe skin (inadequate humidity etc.) and so they are consticted until they fall off.
RE: Help my golden tegu Not directly. But it can, as I said, indicate poor husbandry, which can lead to more serious effects. If nothing else seems wrong, do not worry, just make sure he has everything he needs.
you need to up the humidity in the cage. The humidity should be at 60% to 80% it will help with the shed and it'll keep him hydrated also keep a large dish of water in the cage big enough for he/she to fully submerge it's self
