well i still have 'empty tank syndrome' and i've never owned a lizard before . . . i'd really like to get one, but i still have no clue what to get. it would have to comfortably live in a 10 gal tank and not be horribly difficult to care for. i'd also like to be able to hold him/her (but i don't HAVE to), so that rules out the vast majority of geckos. i *love* leopard geckos, but i took care of one all through high school and i think i'd prefer to learn about a species that is *new* to me. so what are your thoughts?

A leopard gecko or viper gecko would be good. So would an AFT, although with a leo or AFT, I'd probably move them up to a 20g long as an adult, let them get some more walkig around space.

i think i'm gonna go with a viper or pictus. they stay small which, unfortunately, is a must for any animal i get right now. thanks for the info, axe! :)

You'll have a great lil gecko, whichever one of those you ultimately decide upon :)
