I don't recomend getting one online. The shipping is super stressful on them, especially if its a baby. Find a store that carries them. Im sure theres one in Cali. But golden tegus are great pets if tamed.
i just got a golden tegu and its real agressive. it was kept in a 10 gallon 4 who knows how long and its right front leg has no claws im guessing its from lack of calcium. my main question is are they taimable past juvanile. (super agressive!!!) what should i do to taim this beauty.
Never force handle it. Let it get used to you on its own terms. Having said that, you're going to be up against it with a golden tegu - they're not well known for being calm.
