    welcome!

use coconut fiber bedding or one of those reptile grass carpets. do NOT use small gravel, sand, or wood chips - they cause impactions.

i wouldn't get any starter kit - 99% of the time they have things in there are that are dangerous, not neccessary, too expensive, etc. stick with coconut fiber bedding or a reptile grass mat and some fake plants (especially the suction cup kind that stick to the walls of the tank). also a water dish is neccessary - house geckoes stay tiny, though, so i wouldn't get one more than a cm deep or so.

Here's a piece of advice. Be cheap. Check out your local home improvement store and buy your supplies cheaper. The pet store will burn a hole in your pocket if you let it, so find ways to cut your costs.

Coconut husk Stinks it will start to stink after a few days and will make you wank to throw it away... I would use Retile Carpet

coconut fiber bedding does *not* stink - i don't know what brand you got, but i've never had it stink. you must have kept it too wet and too warm, so it grew mold.

also, leopard geckos should not be kept on gravel, sand, or wood chips either. i'd go with large flat rocks, polished river rock, a reptile grass carpet, or the coconut fiber bedding.
