I am getting a 4ft vivarium some point in the next couple of days, and I need to fit a light tube fitting to it... but I cant work out how to do it!!

With my other vivariums, one had a thin back so I could cut little holes to run the wires out... The other vivarium had a plastic grate bit that I could drill holes into and take the pulgs off the wires and run them out..

This new vivarium has a plastic grate thing like the latter, but the light fitting I am unable to "unwire" to feed the wires throught because the wires run into the box..

There is a pic of the light fitting here.....

I dont know if I am explaining myself very well at all..

Can anybody suggest a way to be able to fix this light fitting??

    Thanks!!

Can you remove the plastic grate to cut a slot in each end of it? just small ones that extend beyond the side walls of the viv by 3-4mm to accomodate the cables.
(Obviously installing the cables before you put it back on)

Hoping I've got the right end of the stick
