how do i kill them? my mother has a problem with dead rodents in her freezer(im only 16 so i dont have my own place yet)
google search on it and you will find ways. It is not the best way though.. it better and cheaper to buy the pre-killed.. not to mention slightly more humane than doing it yourself.
Go to the store and plunk down the $90 for a little "Dorm" frig that has the tiny freezer in it. Then you can keep a few months supply and sodas in your room. Or go to the pet store each week and buy a frozen mouse to feed your snake.
If the pet store has them.. none around me carry such an item as frozen mice .. : I like your mini-fridge idea.
There are a bunch of places online that sell rodents. A small upright 5CF freezer can be had for around $120 and you are ready to go. Most of the time even with a small quantity I find that the online places are cheaper than local shops. Another option is to buy some at a herp show. Most shows that I have gone to have at least one "mousecicle" vendor there.
you could call a breeder and let him/her kill them for you for free or beg beg beg beg beg your mom and tell her tat the snake wont liv unless it has food and tell her it is cheeper to buy frozen and if in a bag and kept in a different place then the other food then nothing will happen
You can sell the "dorm" fridge idea easily to your mom too by telling her that will be one less expense when you go to college
I have heard of trex steak sausages-- I never have tried them..... they say they are made up of mice parts, i think minus the fur, all blended up, and made into many different sizes-from pinkie mice size on up... based on picture, looks much more "lovely" to have in freezer. {reference : Corn Snake Manual, by Kathy Love
