So i jus recently got 500 crickets and put them in my tank last night. This morning the tank was covered in red ants... only 20 of the 500 survived. How can i store my crickets without this happening? It only occurs when i have 100 or more in the tank.

you can keep your crickets higher off the floor and make sure that the tank is cleaned thoroughly. or you can buy a Horned Toad. they will eat the red ants.

Ants can "swim" if they want to... they form an ant bridge with their little bodies... however the pan of water is your best bet. They'll just climb up if they really want in the bucket. Why are they after your crickets? What are you putting in your crickets to attract ants?.... oh and ants stink. I have them in my bathrooms, but just my bathroom. :?
