I am wondering if others have ever used canned insects? We have an ant problem and it is hard to keep feeders (crix, supers, silks) w/out the ants getting to them. I was looking for some alternatives until I can resolve the ant issue. I have an 11 year old beardie and a 3 1/2 year old beardie.

IF I were going to use canned insects, it would be as a "topper" for a salad and not as a staple. You'd probably be better trying to use pellets as a staple over canned bugs. Personally I'm not a fan of canned bugs because I have no idea what preservatives may or may not have been used and what effects they may have on my animals.

Easy way to keep ants from getting to feeders is to smear petroleum jelly around the outside of the feeder container. Cheap, effective, non-toxic...what else could you ask for!
