Hi everyone, I know that most people seem to be into the green anoles. It's amazing the color morphs that people have created through careful breeding.

I was just wondering, are there any people who are into the brown Cuban Anoles? I live in FL, and we have hundred's of them in our yards. Every summer you can find tiny hatchlings hopping around in our gardens. Currently there's a dilemma. The brown anoles are displacing the native green anoles. They are much more prolific, larger, and stronger than the green species. Cuban anole males eat the green babies. They eat their own babies as far as I know. They're very territorial. They even bob their heads at you and display their dewlap if you get close enough. We are seeing less and less of the green anoles in urban areas. You can still find plenty of green ones, but you usually find more of them in wooded, and rural areas. Anyway, I'm rambling. Is there an interest out there for the Cuban Anoles? Do people like them? I know around here, those that know or care about the anole situation, people despise them. They are an introduced species and they seem to be harming the native anole population.

Personally I don't care for brown anoles. And hearing about all that doesn't help lol.

My first reptile was a cuban brown that I caught at work. They were coming in on tropical trees from Florida. I still have one of them (gave three away), but they are cute and got me started with my love of reptiles.
