i have a bearded dragon,as well as a gecko. i was ordering crickets from ghann's crickets but it got to be expensive.

i found a site, from southeastern michigan(crickets online)and its only about $21 for 1000. whereas ghanns crickets was $20,for just 250 or so,after shipping and handling.
(that was with fed-ex shipping, since this place is in michigan i can get ground shipping for free.and it would get here in 1-2 days.whereas the fed-ex 2 day, isn't guaranteed to make it here in 2 days.)

just looking for ideas of where everyone else orders them from.that would be cheap and effective. that way when i buy them, and some do die, i won't be out a TON of money.

    rofiudafo,

That website is a branch of top hat crickets, which I have heard good things about and are a regular cricket supplier. It looks like being in Michigan you have the benefit of free shipping with that as well, and it will be safe being ground as it will still be there within a couple of days being in the same state. I would go for it, and if you aren't impressed then you can try somewhere else. Here are my experiences with other websites though:

http://www.mulberryfarms.com is going to be a little pricier per quantity of crickets than some other places but not nearly as pricey as the cost your mentioning for Ghanns. However, their customer service is great and I have never had an issue ordering from them for other feeders like silkworms and hornworms. They may be better buy for silks and other worms compared to crickets.

http://premiumcrickets.com is going to run about the same cost for you as the website you mentioned. Some people have complained about them, but I have not had a single issue with them after ordering thousands of crickets from them. I will say though, I haven't ordered crickets in a long time now that I breed most of my own insects.

http://armstrongcrickets.com seems to be popular but I have never tried them...they look more expensive though.

http://reptilefood.com had a brown recluse spider in my order of crickets. That was pretty cool... but on the bright side the crickets seemed good and I got them fast, but I wasn't exactly fond of knowing that when I put my hand in the cricket bin I could get a bite that might kill me lol. They are also very inexpensive so its probably worth it to consider them.

http://wormman.com . I have no idea what they are like now, but I do not buy anything from them anymore. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I have tried making 4 orders of either superworms or crickets from them and EVERY one was messed up. I hate to wait nearly 2 months to get my superworms, 4 weeks to get my crickets (which all arrived dead) and when I complained about this to get replacement they STILL took forever. I have heard good things and maybe they have changed over the years, but after that experience I will never buy again.

I think places like lllreptile.com and reptilesupply.com also sell feeders, but I think I remember ordering from lllreptile once before and being unimpressed with something (we're talking like 5 years ago).

I'm sure there's many more, but thats off the top of my head. Where you buy from is primarily going to be based on your own experience, so if you like that place in Michigan after ordering keep going for it =) otherwise I would recommend giving preiumcrickets a try or another location. Although if I ever order crickets again I might consider that link of yours, its free shipping to Ohio to! haha
