I live in southeast Florida and I've been seeing these new little green lizards amongst the familiar anoles. They seem to be growing in numbers. I've looked around online lists and can't find anything about them. They grow to slightly larger than the Cuban anoles and I've never witnessed them fighting or chasing each other.

It's hard to get a good shot of them(they're very skittish) especially since the only camera I have is on my iPhone. This shot was a bit blurry and dark so I shopped it up to try to get the color right. Anyone know what this little guy is?

It looks like a neon tree dragon/bananasplit mountain lizard/Japalura splendida. I don't really know too much about them, but one of the pet stores near my house in Fort Myers recently started carrying them. They're suppose to be similar to Chinese Water dragons but more tree dwelling. They get to be 8-12 inches long. I know they're non-native though, so maybe some were dumped in your area and have started a wild colony.

I don't know if I'm right, but it sure looked similar to what I was thinking about buying at the pet store this morning! lol

Hey neighbor! I live in Naples! :D

The lizard in the original post would be a juvenile spiny tailed iguana. Catch it for me, please? :)
